Upon arrival, you would be met and transferred to your hotel.

Enjoy a half day city tour starting with a visit to Wat Visoun, known as ‘The Water Melon Stupa’ due to its shape. Next we visit the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, representing the classical Luang Prabang style. Visit the excellent Arts and Ethnology Centre which gives us a further insight into the ethnic mix and culture of Laos. Continue to the weaving and textile villages ofBan Xangkhong and Ban Xienglek.

Optional: Enjoy a traditional baci ceremony, believed by the Laotian to give harmony and balance to the body, and bring health and prosperity!

Option 1: Full day Pak Ou Cave Exploration

Enjoy a panoramic cruise on the Mekong River. Your first stop is the village of Ban Muangkeo where you start a short trek to reach the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. Return to Luang Prabang by car via Ban Nongxai, an artisan’s village and also to visit a silversmith workshop.

Option 2: Full Day Countryside off-road Biking Tour

Cycle to a small boat landing where we cross the Mekong River by ferry to Ban Xieng Man. Continue cycling to Ban Nakham, which is known for growing sugarcane and cooking sticky rice in bamboo sticks. Next we cycle to Khmu villages of Ban Natan and Ban Houy Phong, explore the villages and learn about their cultures, lunch is provided on the way. Continue cycling to Ban Chan Neua, known as the pottery and jar making village. Cross the river by boat and enjoy short cycle back to Luang Prabang. (Cycling approximately 5hours and walking 2 hours)

Drop by the local morning market before returning to the hotel for breakfast.

Spend the morning on a rice farm and experience the life of a farmer and get your hands dirty! We then drive past ethnic minority villages to Kuangsi Waterfall and enjoy a swim. Back at Luang Prabang, ascend Mt Phousy for a panoramic view of the city.

Travel in the footsteps of French Explorer, Dr P Neiss around the Huay Sae Valley by elephant, on foot and bamboo raft. Travel to Shangri-Lao Explorer Camp where you will be introduced to your elephants before riding them through the teak forests of the Nam Khan River Valley. After lunch by a secluded waterfall, continue on foot along the Huay Sae mountain stream, accompanied by porter horses. Take the bamboo raft down the Nam Khan River, passing traditional villages. In the evening, enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner under the starry sky.

Rise early and meet the elephants down at the river to join their daily bath. After a short instruction by your mahout, ride on the elephant’s neck, wash and guide it through the river to the camp. Following breakfast, check out and transfer back to airport for your flight back to Singapore via Bangkok.
